If we were to ask you about a dashboard horror story, how many would you have? One, two or too many to count? Just like you and the rest of this world, our dashboards have not always been the greatest, with either too much information or not the right information, leading to a dashboard that gives no true insight.
We had the dashboards that were beautiful without functionality and the ones that gave us a mountain of data but caused us to be stricken with decision paralysis. To honor the fallen dashboards and our Sisyphean efforts, we have created The Great Dashboard Series. In this series, we’re answering the ever elusive question of “how to create a great dashboard”.
The Great Dashboard Series is a tribute to the dashboards we have scraped, the countless hours we spent creating complex but beautiful graphs only to have people still ask what we were trying to show.
